My Story
For years I was depressed and anxious. I was experiencing bowel issues and severe pain in my joints. I saw numerous doctors and jumped from medication to medication in a desperate attempt to find some relief. Nothing truly worked though. I finally got tired of paying for unproductive appointments and relying on medications that simply weren't working.

I prayed for answers to my health dilemma and soon after I came upon the movie "Food Matters". This movie taught me that food is medicine (something that I had never heard of before) and that you can heal your body and mind with your food choices, lifestyle adjustments and a different mindset. I decided to try a detox to see if food really could be medicine for me.

I ate a whole foods diet and eliminated processed sugars (which I was addicted to), refined grains, and packaged foods. Within one day the pain in my hips was gone. Within three days I was having regular bowel movements, and within 5 days my mood was so much happier. I could not believe the changes that were occurring. I was ecstatic!
By making these fundamental changes, I was able to break-free from the dependency I had on the healthcare system that failed to treat the root cause of my depression and anxiety. If fact, I felt so much better I decided to pursue a formal education in functional nutrition.
